Hi all
It has been quite some time since we have had a gathering of UK Luscombes , so you are invited to White Waltham ( EGLM ) airfield on Saturday 15th September / Sunday 16th September ( suggest midday onwards)
Note this is not a dedicated "fly in" and will be a normal operational day at White Waltham. Normal landing fees will apply but once I know how many may stay over I will ask if parking may be included ( if possible..)
It will be a great opportunity to catch up with each other and see and chat about what we have all been up to recently , and hopefully see one or two of the new restorations that have been going on.
White Waltham has a lovely clubhouse and bar serving breakfast and food during the day.
Several people are already booked to stay overnight until Sunday.
So far the Premier Inn in Maidenhead is proving popular. Also very close to the airfield is the Holiday Inn
It is also only a short train journey to/from Central London and the nearby station has good links to other points.
If you decide to come along please let me know ( ) . I am arranging some food for the group on Saturday evening , so I will need to know numbers and then I can send out a simple menu so that the catering staff can be prepared. Plenty of good beer and beverages available
White Waltham is friendly and easy to access - however it is very close to the Heathrow CTA which starts on the eastern edge of the ATZ , so do swot up on joining procedures ( the overhead join has just been amended to 1200ft QFE) and phone White Waltham ops on the day to confirm PPR and that you are aware of the joining details
Look forward to seeing many of you

Will Keith be bringing his accordion? Liz and I missed it as we had to leave early from the Haddenham gathering. Wandering through You tube in search of Luscombe videos, as you do, I came across a wonderful clip of a mature French gent on a tandem parascending thingy, playing his accordion all the way down a valley in the Alps. He even had a beret and a twirly moustache. Now there's an idea Keith

As of 27 Aug , we are expecting 7 Luscombes and a DR400 so far at White Waltham
If the weather is kind there could be up to 20 people for our evening gathering.
It would be great of get at least another 2 or 3 Luscombes to fly in , so please do let me know and come along for a good Luscombe gossip

It was great to see everybody, and really encouraging to hear about ongoing Luscombe projects in the UK. Thanks again to Keith for arranging everything. This forum is a good place to let people know where we might be going to encourage casual gatherings in the future. It's always frustrating to find that friends have been at the same event, and we have missed them because we did not know they were there. In the same way, we sometimes decide not to bother with an event, but if we know other people are going to be there we make the effort and are glad we did.

Nice to meet everyone briefly on Saturday afternoon. Well done Keith for getting everyone together and arranging the Spitfire flypast.... Hope to have G-BVGW there for next year even though she is in a thousand bits right now...
