Hi Nige et al,

I didn't realise that the 'Vintage Cessna Corner' existed! I am a veteran of the May 2009 Luscombe/Cessna Vintage Fly In at Sywell. At that time my flying partner (Phil Dacre) and I owned G-ANGK, a vintage Cessna 140A. We flew down from Shempston (a grass strip near RAF Lossiemouth, Scotland) for the meet and overnighted with you all in the lovely Aviator Hotel. A great meeting. Several photos of us are in your gallery taken at the event.

We have since sold the Cessna 140A, and temporarily owned a Jodel. Phil and I, along with a third partner, Ken Bowlt, have recently returned to the vintage Cessna fraternity, having bought a lovely 1946 Cessna 120 (G-BHLW) last November. We greatly look forward to meeting up with the Luscombe owners again very soon!

I will do my best to advertise this forum to other vintage Cessna owners!

Best wishes,
Iain Macdonald.

Hi Ian,
Blimey, haven't seen a post on here for ages! I set this addition to the Luscombe site to support the Cessna corner as things on the vintage/classic section there was poorly represented. I worried also about Cessna's lack of representation with the LAA and EFLEVA.

Good to hear from you Ian and yes, that meeting was one of my favourite all time meets. I never knew my putting it together would be so successful! Happy days...

Glad to see LW is in good hands and hope to bump into you and friends at some point. Looks like the LAA fly-in at Goodwood at the end of May may well be a good time to catch up! this will probably replace the Luscombe rally at Oaksey this year. I'll be staying overnight. :cheers2: safe flying.

Nige Barratt.

Good to hear from you Nige. I don't think that we will make Goodwood this May, but look forward to catching up with all you Luscombers sometime soon.

All the best, Iain.

Ok Ian, pity.

Let us know if you can muster up a few old Cessna's to meet up with us guys? Fly safe.
