At some point in the future, I'm planning to replace the propellor on a C-90 powered Lucombe based in the UK.

The type certificate says

Propeller - McCauley 1B90
(a) For models 8F and T-8F landplanes - 1B90-CM-7154 or any other 1B90-CM
propeller which meets the following limits:
Static r.p.m. at maximum permissible throttle setting:
not over 2100, not under 2000
No additional tolerance permitted. Diameter: not over 71 in., not under 69.5 in.

The LAA PTL only lists this propellor up to 7152 as a standard fit for a C-90 powered Luscombe.

Can anyone throw any light on this or provide any recommendations.

Initially that sounds as weird as our "special list of noise protection" in Germany! :sign2: Only approved combinations of prop, engine and exhaust system from that list have a chance to get a noise protection certificate.

I'm in the dark about all your requirements over there, yet I have a C-90 with a 71/54 as specified on my '48 8F. My static run up is within those limits. It measures 70.75" overall, and its a clear cruise prop for me. With the hanlon wilson exhaust, overhauled stromberg and K and N air filter, seems to climb just fine. That 71/52 might be a great fit if u want the better climb performance, and not a huge penalty in cruise.

I'm running a 71/52 on a Continental 85 in BRUG. A good all round compromise I feel.
My word, the German rules are complicated and seem quite a hurdle running a grand old old lady like the Luscombe?
