This might be a schoolboy question, but can anyone confirm the correct modern equivalent for the Alclad 24ST that my Luscombe seems to be made from, or the tail plane rear spar, connecting brackets and panels at least. Most websites, and Malcolm at the LAA seem to come up with 2024 T3. However, the metal supplier tells me that "T3" is bare, with a full spec of:- 2024 0, T3, T81 BARE AMS-QQA250/4, AMS4035, AMS4037.

Alclad is:- 2024 T351, T851 ALCLAD AMS-QQA250/5, AMS4040, AMS4041. I have to get this right of course. Can anybody put me right on this please, I am drowning in numeric sequences here.

Thanks, Chris G-EITE
