I have Eisman Mags on my C85 engine and they are perhaps getting tired. One of them is behaving in a manner consistent with its drive gear jumping. My question is can anyone give me their thoughts on changing to slicks instead?

I've not had any experience with Eisman mags, but I had Slick mags on my A65 powered aircraft, and thought they were wonderful. The aircraft always started 1st or second pull on the prop, and the mags were completelY trouble free in service. i'm told that slick mags are not as easy to overhaul as the more traditional Bendix mags, but that is only heresay, so others may dispute this statement.

I have extensive experience of overhauling Eisemann magnetos. I have most spare parts here. They are lovely mags, and require little TLC to keep in tip top condition. Don't switch to Slicks (IMHO).

Can you tell me whether you are a C85 -8 or -12, the mag rotation is different.

If you do go for Slicks (did I say DON'T?) then I'll pay in excess of the carcass cost for your Eisemanns.
